OMG!!!!! I was just thinking about you and Esme and the boys yesterday! I'm soooooo glad you posted! Missed you terribly :0( do write more! :0)

Kimb said...

Wow! Don't know what made me check your blog just now, after all this time of nothing - and assuming there would never be anymore - but I'm glad I did. Hope the insides get sorted soon. Big white dog? Uh oh. Looking forward to more information on that subject.

Katie Ann said...

Still subscribing, and missing everything about your blog, especially the illustrations.

the polish chick said...

thank christ for subscriptions and yes, i still read it, and will continue to read it as long as you continue to write it.

so sorry about derek. agreed re: christmas which is why we don't do gifts, and go kick those builders in the nuts.

welcome back and hope you feel so much better soon that you'll start to blog like you've never blogged before.

Barbara Prime said...

So glad you felt like stopping by today! This past November and December were terrible for me too, so you're not alone. I'm getting better, though (with lots of vitamins, yoga, and therapy). Maybe you'll feel up to more regular posting as Spring gets closer and everything feels less grey and miserable :)

Amy said...

Hell yes, people still check your blog. Don't stop believing that we want to hear about your building woes, irregular bowels and dogs.

caromalinia said...

Hurrah! So glad to see you back (and so sorry you're not feeling well)!

LisaTO said...

I still feel weird about telling strangers that I subscribe faithfully to their blog, but yeah. I do.

bouncyczech said...

Yay! So happy to see you again.

Veronica Foale said...

Hi, yes, still here. Immodium is awesome stuff. Your cartoons are better though.

shforshort said...

Of course we're still reading! Your comic is awesomestuff, by the way. Can complete imagine Oscar mono-ranting at Ian. Brilliant.

Author, author! said...

Feel better! Tell people you are having a *cleanse*! They don't need to know it was an unsolicited cleanse, do they?

fourstar said...

Goodness. We were quite literally about to give you a call and suggest either a) we popped round to make a mess of your house or b) you popped round to make a mess of our house.

Either way, that - soon.

Jamey said...

Was just the other day hoping you'd have an update!

Sorry about Derek. Old waning kitties are sad. Glad she's out of it now.

And yes, I always want to hear about your family's intestinal distress, annoyances, and whatnot.

Anna said...

I remained hopefully subscribed for just such an occasion. Still reading (in Minnesota, no less).

jac said...

Cartoons! Big white dogs! Diarrhoea! This post had it all. AA+++, would subscribe again.

Megling said...

HOORAY! Oh hooray you're back-ish.

Jacqui said...

Yes! Yay for blogs you've missed seeing around popping up on your Reader. And even better when they do it with easy-to-read cartoons. Sorry to hear about Derek, even when it's a long time coming it's hard losing a pet. Not sure if I should commiserate about the dog but I suspect it's safe to hope you feel better soon!

Swistle said...

1. Google Reader means I am still reading, even if it has been DECADES.

2. I am sorry about your kitty.

3. I am also sorry about your stomach bug. I just recovered from same, but had only a 24-hour sentence. Still. Awful. I stopped eating entirely, because I didn't want to see anything I ate transformed in that way.

4. I don't know what made me think you'd want to know. Sorry about your cat, again.

greyfavorite said...

Still subscribing, still reading!

Thank goodness for hand-drawn cartoons and Immodium.

Anne said...

Hi! So glad to hear from you again. I've missed you.

Nicole said...

I love the way you Brits spell diarrhea. Especially since I've had it for 3 days, just like you. And puking...God, the puking was something else.

Jen said...

Holy shit, you're alive! Huzzah! Missed you and your randomness terribly. Hope you feel better soon!

Lora said...

Sorry you feel like crap but yay! A new cartoon!

Bob said...

Sorry to hear about your recent blahs and about the intestinal rebellion. At least one good thing came out of it (you decide if pun was intended), you now know how a goose feels - as you both seem to process food in the same way.

OOOOOH - Laura got her birthday present - La Fee - and is hooked. Thinks it's fantastic. Thanks for the advice.

MK said...

Congratulations on the Immodium! And the magic of RSS will keep us up to date for as long as you care to keep posting (...which I selfishly hope will be for a long while yet).

Mrs Jones said...

Hooray! Everything will be alright again, for Antonia has RETURNED (sort of). Now never leave us again.

@eloh said...

Sorry about your old pussy. I expect mine to show signs of jumping ship everyday. I do hope your bout with the scours has a better ending... in the end, ending. There is chapstick for the top end but we're all still waiting for someone to invent chapped butt stick. Speaking of that... a very large white dog bit me in the ass several years ago.... sometimes, when it rains, I'm still forced to remember.

By the way, so very happy to see you and the family.

Tosca004* said...

Yay - very glad to have you back.
Very sorry about kitty - that just sucks terribly.
Looking forward to the next instalment, and hope you're able to get some quality faffing/bad television/slightly dodgy-post-reading in amongst the bleghs,

Charm said...

i was hoping for baskets of kittens but this cartoon is much better than that!

so sorry to hear that derek passed away.

Sheila said...

YAY! I have missed you.
Sorry you are feeling poorly but glad you are getting some peace and quiet.

Alicey said...

Ooh! Have you got a Pyrenean Mountain Dog? I love them, but they are fucking enormous. If so, you too can experience the joy of hearing, "Fucking hell, that's not a dog it's a pony" or "You could ride on that!" 47 million times.

I feel your pain re the builders. Next door built their own extension last year, from February to October. Then 3 days after they finished, the people opposite put a scaffold up and are still banging away as we speak. I am edging closer to hara-kiri on a daily basis.

sarah doow said...

When my premium bonds win me my million, you will be employed to illustrate my life and world events for me.

Bethany said...

delight to see you again. with pictures. hoping giant white mistake dog doesn't star in any story involving diarrhea? staying tuned ...

Lara said...

Glad you've returned! Sorry to hear about dear old Derek.

SE said...

My sympathies on the loss of Derek and your illness. May 2012 be better.

Meetzorp said...

I was thrilled to bits to swing by your site and see a new drawing up.

I always enjoy your posts, especially your comic strips and illustrations.

How is the kitchen reno going? My house is still torn from end to end, and it gets a bit demoralising living in a construction zone all the time!

Eden Kennedy Onassis said...

Inspiring, as always.

Hairy Farmer Family said...

'course they do. And I'm glad to see that Oscar is drawn to mutilate laptops in the same way Harry was!

Poor digestively challenged sufferer! Feel better soon, lovey. Although, if it make you draw so fabulously: stay in bed, by all means!

Sinda said...

I'm so glad to see you! I'm with you on Christmas -- I HATE IT. Fucking lame holiday. I like the food and the family and the coziness though.

I refrained from chiming in with my say on the dog earlier, because it seemed a little soon, but I will say now that it looked FAR too much like mine, and based on appearances alone, I could have told you it would be a huge pain in the ass. I love mine, and she is adorable, but OH MY GOD I WISH SHE WOULD GO AWAY. Just today I had to throw away another pair of fancy pants because she nicked them and destroyed them. Woe.

I hope the gastric evil is gone quickly, but may I suggest you take at least another 36 hours alone in bed after, just to be sure? xx

Gwynne said...

Most definitely still reading!!

Ms. Joyce said...

Of course, we are reading! We all love you. Can't wait to hear the adventures of big white dog. Feel better.

Franca Bollo said...

OH, GOD! Thank you!

Franca Bollo said...

I've missed you.

Victoria said...

I love your drawings and totally want to buy a whole book of them and maybe marry them too.

Hope you're better soon. Sounds icky

meno said...

Nope, not reading.

velocibadgergirl said...

HOORAY! Well, not hooray that you're sick. But HOORAY!

viviane said...

Like everybody else, sorry (cat), sorry (stomach), and so glad you came back !

Toni said...

Antonia!!!!! I was just about to leave you a little wistful comment on your last post asking you to please let us know how you are. But I come to work and look through my Google Reader and nearly fall off my damn chair because here you are!
Being in a particularly predictable mood, I am going to offer massive sympathy for Derek's demise, minor sympathy for the condition of your insides, and add to the chorus of "welcome back".
Hugs

Jane said...

Ahhh...you and the Waffle return in the same week. How wonderful. Commiserations over Derek.

fabhat said...

HURRRRRRAAAH. that is all.

fabhat said...

BUT also sorry about Derek, the bug of doom and the laptop keys...

Lola Skw said...

Oh yes, I still read this stuff! I kept checking my rss-feeds...
And I thank you profoundly for this fabulous cartoon. Love it.
But I am also sorry for the loss of your cat; and I hate evil builders from the Realm of Doom and sickness attacking your house.
I pray you will feel better soon! Hugs, Lola

Jen said...

Yay for Google Reader - that's how I knew you'd posted. So sorry you were ill, but at least you got some peace and quiet, eh? RIP Derek

Artemisia said...

THERE you are. I was starting to wonder.

Sorry for death and poo and pounding demons. More cartoons would help, I think.

Kara said...

I've missed you!

Meag said...

Hoorah! Your back! I felt kinda weird stalking you through flikr but you were at least posting photos there.

So sorry about Derek and and the builders.

Deborah said...

Well. That explains everything.

Bonnie said...

Yep, we do. Hope you're feeling much, much better.

kimba said...

I haven't read in a while, but that's because I'm busy, fickle and faithless. But I always come back. Sorry about your kitty; I have a 1994 model as well, and that year of manufacture is getting to be quite a long time ago, sadly. Get better soon.

Norm said...

I'm gonna confess. I click on Whoopee once per day to see if there's a new post. Because they are always fantastic and well worth the wait. Terribly sorry to hear about your cat, and the builders, and the poop, and I can't wait to hear about the giant dog.

WrathofDawn said...

63rd comment (unless someone beats me to it.)

Yes. Yes, we do read this stuff.

Imagine my joy on finding not just a post, but an illustrated post! Calloo callay!

I hope your digestive distress calms soon. Ugh.

Joan said...

Yeah, what the rest of your fan club said. And Whoopee!

nicole francine said...

You are funnier with gastroblech than I am *ever*. Welcome back. Looking forward to hearing about the massive white dog.

JoAnne said...

oh, YAY! I've been checking every day this last week after a while of not checking, because I had this feeling...

BOO to poo
Piss off to builders
Sorry about Derek.

BRAT diet. Bananas, Rice, Aaaaaaaaaand...I don't remember the rest. T is for toast though.

peevish said...

That Imodium is a life-saver. I just googled Imodium to make sure I'm spelling it right and saw an ad for imodium for dogs, which would also be a life-saver.

Hello! I'm so happy to see you. Feel better soon.

Still here!

I love your cartoons. Also: bum lobsters made me laugh.

Sorry to hear about your kitty. And your gastric distress as well. And the banging of the neighbors.

But I'm glad that you draw us such lovely funny illustrations of it all. I especially love Ian with the stormcloud over his head.

Sparx said...

Welcome back - sorry about Derek but I seem to recall she was getting on... our old puss got thin and wonky and buried in September; it's how it goes.

Welcome back - Happy New Year. Hope the exit doors are all safely locked!

You can call me, 'Sir' said...

I was in your land not long ago for a science thing involving science and stayed a few days in London, visiting old haunts and generally being overwhelmed by how many people God can shove into one square foot of everywhere. At one point I looked at Clapham Common on the tube map and thought about heading down there, buying a can of Carling, shaking it with vigor, then spraying it (in your honor) all over one of those people that try to stop you on the sidewalk to talk about starving kids in Africa and how you can help feed them if you'll just provide your banking information. But my guardian angel whispered in my ear, 'Their cat died, the woman's GI tract is malfunctioning, and there are stink lines coming from the youngest one's bum. Honor them by going to Borough Market and getting a muffin instead.'

And so I did. And it was good. You're welcome. In any event, nice drawings.

Tania said...

Geez, I love it when you are sick - er - cartooning. The nice me hopes you're feeling tres better quick-sticks. The rotter in me just wants you to stay in bed drawing.

Oh thank Christ you're back!

Charlie said...

Still here! And you, as always, are brilliant. Seemed deeply wrong to laugh at your banging builders/dying cat/mama-ing toddler combo from hell, but laugh I did. Sorry about the evil guts, but if we get more cartoons, then you can stay in bed.

zan said...

I think you can string this sickness thing out for a while... it sounds like it's good for you. xoxox

Tamsin said...

I have Google reader which warns/alerts/nudges me when blogs I like have new posts. Thank you for the amazing comic strip update, hope you're feeling better.

Jilly said...

Yahoo - you're back! (meant in an entirely UNsarcastically way)

Xtreme English said...

how wonderful that you're back!!! yes, indeed, we read if you post. and we even haunt your site when you don't and worry that something horble has happened to you, ian, esme, or ossie. It turns out we were right to worry, but at least you're all alive and up to your usual stunts. so very sorry about derek. WELL (get it!)

and yes, what is it with you and la waffle that you started back up almost at the same time? we missed her, too.

welcome back, dear lady. some of us have really no life apart from poring over other folks's blogs all day, but you're part of it!! great cartooning, btw!!

I usually only lurk, but I check faithfully at least once a week to see if you're back, and here you are! Yay for being back, boo for being sick, and I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. But I'm glad you're back.

Michele R said...

Yay! You're back. And Boo! you're not well. Glad for the former, not so much on the latter. Hope you're better soon, though. Missed reading you SO much. I have had builders IN my house for the last month and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel = new kitchen! Even sick, you're brilliant.

Michele R said...

A (in the BRAT diet) is for applesauce. And for the chapped bum stick, use Desitin (or whatever else you would use for diaper rash). It works, I swear!!!

You're back!
