Nothing commands respect on the mean streets of South London like a pirate hat and a small paper flag, and no one messed with her turf all afternoon.
She wanted the pirates on her hat to look especially pugnacious and hardcore,
so she drew them with sticking-plasters on.PS Thank you for all still being here. x x

Arrrr matey! And I bet they're so staunch they don't even cry when the plaster has to be pulled off by their mum. Even if they're really hairy.
She has a glare that sort of destroys hope. That may come in handy during the teen years.
The shin attached to what appears to be a black sock in the background is almost as intimidating as those pirates.
A gentleman always keeps his socks on.
Apparently.
Mercy! What a steely glare!
Further to previous comment, we shall bring Freyja round for a stare-off forthwith.
(Esme will win, mind...)
If the hat comes with the look, I need one!
(Glad to see you back)
Her pirates and their sticking plasters remind me of Morning Musume's makeup on the music video for their cover of Hyokkori no Hyoutanjima
Observe. Observe and probably laugh:

Fierce.

esme, she is one badass!
raaaar.
nearly time for your lent blog marathon, innit?
of course we are here. waiting. no pressure.
I think Esme's glare is even scarier than Ian's. I certainly see the resemblance though. Darling!
Please teach Esme this joke:
Why are pirates always angry? Because they just aaaaarrrr.
What a fantastic picture of Esme!
Ahoy Me Hearties... glad to see you back
Yar!
She so looks like she should be Nancy from Swallows and Amazons. Rocking that pirate chic.

Wonderful! Also I read this and thought you might like it, what with your previously mentioned moth related activities.

That is the fiercest looking pirate I have ever seen. Rarrr and, indeed, ahoy, me matey.
No limp-wristed, pansy-ass pirates for your Esme. My kind of girl!
thank you for coming back. the internets missed you so.
I really just adore her.
Great golly, where did she get that stare? Anne Bonny, eat your heart out.
So glad to have you back in my computer and hope you are feeling better. Pirates rock and Esme is fierce - also, I so much prefer "sticking-plasters" to what we call "bandaids". English - you has it.
Glad you are back!
Moody pirate. Method acting at it's finest!
I check my bookmarklet thingy every time I log in, just in case you have posted. THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK!
The picture scared me off, so well done on the pirate hat Esme!
HOORAH!!!You are returned! At least Esme is on your side...hopefully..
such a frightful pirate! Glad I shall not be meeting her in a dark alley
I've been frantically refreshing this blog like a pathetic needy dog who won't accept her owners have left her and gone to live in New Zealand.
I'm *that* rock and roll.
As for Esme - she has the eyes of a stone cold killer. She'll make an excellent Dread Pirate Roberts.
LOVE
she looks like a mean south London pirate ...

Arrrr!
My two year old, when asked if she is a boy or a girl, will tell you she is a pirate.
My two year old, when asked if she is a boy or a girl, answers "pirate." She has four different pirate hats and is always wearing one.
Much preferable to the princess obsession of my older one.
pugnacious.........excellent, excellent word.
lol this is so adorable. I love the pirate hat :)
so happy to read you back. And tell Esme we have especial pirate bandages if she's looking for some.
